Adult film actress Stormy Daniels sat down with Anderson Cooper on last night's 60 Minutesto talk about her alleged affair with Donald Trump, and brought in the highest ratings for the program in ten years, since the Obamas' 2008 post-election interview. While on air, Daniels revealed that she'd taken a $130,000 deal to keep quiet about her affair with Trump, and that she had been threatened by a man in a parking lot in 2011.
"I was in a parking lot, going to a fitness class with my infant daughter. Taking, you know, the seats facing backwards in the backseat, diaper bag, you know, getting all the stuff out. And a guy walked up on me and said to me, 'Leave Trump alone. Forget the story," she explained. "And then he leaned around and looked at my daughter and said, 'That's a beautiful little girl. It'd be a shame if something happened to her mom.' And then he was gone."
She also revealed that Trump had dangled the idea of Daniels appearing on The Celebrity Apprentice after they had their sexual encounter in July 2006.
Hollywood has been particularly vibrant in their reactions to the enlightening interview--here are some key responses:
“One has a sense that the Stormy Daniels interview tonight was but the first squalls of a gathering tempest.”
“The Stormy Daniels story isn't about Trump having an affair with a porn star. That's not news. It is about his campaign trying to threaten, intimidate and illegally use campaign funds to buy her silence just weeks before the election. Don't let the lurid details overshadow this.”
