Did we hear that right?

You know the world is coming to an end when a Fox News reporter is coming to the defense of a rival network--especially one like CNN.

But that's exactly what Shepard Smith did this week after President Donald Trump blocked CNN, the New York Times, and other major news outlets from an off-camera press briefing at the White House.

Smith, long-rumored to be gay and who, in an interview last year, opened up about his sexuality, resented the accusation that CNN was "fake news"--a favorite invective of the current commander-in-chief.

"Fake news is made up nonsense delivered for financial gain. CNN's reporting was not fake news," Smith said. "Its journalists follow the same standards to which other news organizations, including Fox News, adhere."
