Yesterday, Vice released the first part of their three-part documentary on gay conversion therapy, a practice which claims to "cure" gay people of their homosexuality.
For part one of Profiles by VICE's doc, Vice sent their cameras inside an ex-gay retreat. For part two, Vice heads to Oregon's Gay Christian Networking Conference to talk with former leaders of the Ex-Gay Movement.
They interview John Smid, the former director of Love In Action, who now embraces his homosexuality and renounced the entire ex-gay ideology. Vice also meets Sam Brinton, a conversion therapy survivor, who opens up about the physical torture he endured while undergoing during "treatment."
