N0t Listed is ready to serve you up some bops.
With a brand new music video for their latest single "Close My Eyes," directed by famed celebrity photographer Mike Ruiz, the all-LGBTQ+ musical trio is celebrating the release of their debut EP, aptly entitled BopShop.
"We wanted the mood of this EP to be the three F's: Fun, Fierce, and Fab," N0t Listed member Kayvon, who met his bandmates Leo and Josh at an underground circuit party in New York City, explained about the vibe the group was trying to achieve with their debut project.
"We recorded the EP at Josh's Manhattan studio as it was more central for the group and also where all the equipment was," Kayvon said about the creation of the EP, which offers up a healthy, vibrant mix of dance, pop, and R&B . "Leo started calling Josh's apartment the BopShop and when it came time to decide on the name of the EP, it only made sense to name her after the place she was birthed."
A diverse bunch (Josh is Mexican-American and identifies as gay, Kayvon is Iranian-American and identifies as nonbinary and pansexual, and Leo is African-American and identifies as bisexual), N0t Listed hopes their music helps other live their best lives and helps them stand in their truth.
"We hope to inspire others to feel powerful in their authentic skin, clear in the understanding that if an African-American, Mexican-American, and Iranian-American can be werking it in times like these, they can too," Josh said.
