Out chats with the music legend about her new Apple TV+ special Mariah's Christmas: The Magic Continues.

Mariah Carey Season(tm) is officially in full swing, and this year, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter is back with yet another holiday special to remind us all that she is still very much the Queen of Christmas!

While her holiday fare is an essential part of the Christmas season, especially her chart-topping and history-making classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You," with 19 Billboard Hot 100 #1s (the most for any solo artist) and 200 million records sold worldwide, we can't let anyone forget that Mariah is also one of the most iconic and successful recording artists of all time.

Out got the chance to speak with the legend herself to chat about keeping the festivities going with her latest Christmas special, her romantic new holiday bop "Fall in Love at Christmas," the upcoming 25th anniversary of her groundbreaking Butterfly album, her legacy as an icon for many queer folks, and more!

"I love having a connection with anybody who wants to have that connection with me," Mariah told Out when asked about the longtime love her queer fanbase has had for her throughout her long, illustrious career. "I think that's what we all feel. To me, that's what everybody feels with each other, when you connect with somebody."

She continued: "I was always other, I was always different, I never felt like I fit in. I always kind of understood, 'Okay, people are different and we can't judge this, we can't judge that,' but I don't know that everybody else that I grew up around felt the same way. So I just love feeling the acceptance, feeling the love, feeling embraced, and I want to give that back. That's what's most important for me, just accepting people for who you are."

Mariah's Christmas: The Magic Continues is now streaming on Apple TV+!
