Have you ever seen a prospective boo flirting with someone else and just wanted to go full Buffy the Vampire Slayer on them? That sort of romantic rage must be a universal feeling, because Ariana Grande is channeling it a new music video for her song with Social House, "boyfriend." No capital letters here, honey, it's an Ari feature!

The video casts Givenchy's new spokeswoman as an avatar of female rage, pissed that her new man -- who is definitely not her boyfriend, thank u, next! -- is flirting with other women. In a tale as old as time, Ariana focuses her anger not on the man double-timing her but on the other women, which is really something we should be past in 2019! But if we were, we wouldn't get to see Grande notch a literal bow and arrow and nail another girl in the hand and then shoot heart-shaped lasers out of her boobs, so ... you win some, you lose some!

On Twitter, Grande shared that "this song captures a common theme in the lives of so many people I know! People want to feel love but don't want to define their relationship and have trouble fully committing or trusting or allowing themselves to fully love someone. Even [though] they want to." She added that she and Social House "wanted to make something uplifting that captures that feeling of being afraid to take the leap and trust, being afraid of being hurt or feeling like you won't be enough for that person" while still illustrating "how it feels to have a crippling crush on someone." And then how it feels to cripple someone!
