In case you’re wondering, Frank Ocean is off the market.
In an interview with Gayletter, the ultra-private Ocean revealed, when asked if he uses any dating apps, that he has been in a relationship for three years.
“I don’t use dating apps,” Ocean said. “I’ve been in a relationship for three years. I definitely wasn’t using dating apps before then. I don’t think I would use dating apps now. I fuck with Marc Jacobs’ philosophy on that, so I wouldn’t rule it out, but it is a little hectic being a famous person on dating apps.”
Ocean went on to affirm that there are too many people with agendas on apps who only want to talk to him because of his fame.
Fans have long speculated that Ocean’s boyfriend is Memo Guzman, who he name dropped on the 2017 track “Provider” in the lyric, “Memo finna start acting out if I don’t see him soon.”
In the interview, Ocean also clarified which New York City bar he references on Blonde’s “Good Guy” — it’s Boxers in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood.
Ocean has been teasing new music since November, when he made his Instagram public. In January, he hinted that he would cover SZA’s song “Weekend,” though an album has yet to materialize. The closest to new material Ocean fans have gotten is the re-issue of his zine, Boys Don’t Cry, which dropped during February’s Oscars ceremony.
