Iconic superstar Charli XCX was treated to a special dose of gay love on Sunday when Corey Runyan and Cory Murray (cute couple name!!) got engaged at a meet and greet. Charli XCX is currently on tour supporting her new album, the critically acclaimed Charli.
Capping off a banner week for meet-and-greets, Runyan surprised his partner, Murray, and the singer following her show at the House of Blues in Chicago. The two shared the happiest moment in their lives in the presence of pop royalty, and Charli is beside herself with glee. She loves love!
In a 32-second video uploaded to Twitter, Charli initially doesn't realize what's happening -- even as Murray is down on one knee. As he climatically opens the ring box, the "Boom Clap" singer's face is a mixture of wide-eyed excitement and the stunned mouth-agape look of someone who has no idea how she got where she is but is damn happy to be there.
When Murray says "yes" (duh) and the two kiss, Charli covers her face to hide her gigantic smile, then starts clapping for the happy couple. "Oh my god, guys! It's amazing!" the singer said to the couple. "Congratulations!"
Normally an absolute lyrical wizard, Charli was so overwhelmed that all she could do was repeat those phrases. They took the words right out of her mouth, and will soon be getting a letter from her legal team, no doubt.
Charli did, however, manage to squeak out,"I love you guys! I don't know you, and I love you!" near the end of the video. Love wins!
After adding seven years to the musician's lifespan, the happy couple did also get their picture taken with Charli. They live in Pittsburgh with their beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog Gus. Now all they need is to have a double wedding with the guys who proposed in front of Brie Larson and their gay heaven will be complete.
