Who knew we'd start the year off with robot dry humping?
If you were excited to see Justin Timberlake bring sexy back to 2018, you may want to sit back down. The musician emerged from the woods earlier this week to announce his his long-awaited comeback album Man of the Woods with a serene, woodsy video directed by Ryan McGinley that seemed to show him going full Joanne for his new album, but that's not quite what happened.

Instead, Timberlake's music video for his first single, "Filthy," is... full of interesting choices. The singer plays a sort of sexy Steve Jobs character but rather than debuting an iPhone to a group of confused people, he debuts a singing, dancing robot. What follows can best be summed up as watching an Uncanney Valley android gyrate and dry hump the female dancers who act as props for his big, robot showcase.
We thought that after a revelatory year of women speaking out against sexual harassment we might start the year off without having to watch a music video where a robot simulates sex with women as a crowd cheers, but here we are. At least the song is okay.
