Chicago-based band Whitney has been rapidly on-the-rise following their 2016 debut album, Light On The Lake, which delivered some seriously comforting midwestern tunes. For entry-level listening, start with "No Woman," then work your way into, "No Matter Where We Go"--both provide mellow, dazed soundtracks for cabin weekends away.

About a year since their big breakout, the indie rockers will release a new 12" single, featuring covers of Lion's 1975 track, "You've Got a Woman," and Dolly Parton's early piano-led demo, "Gonna Hurry (As Slow As I Can)." With a pleasant spread of warm horns and bright keyboards, Whitney's melodic take on one of Parton's more obscure cuts will soothe your pained Monday soul.
