"This is a song about trauma bonding and learning to love yourself first," says LA-based trio MUNA of the band's newest track, "Crying On The Bathroom Floor," out today. The song is lifted from MUNA's forthcoming debut LP, About U, which features previously released LGBTQ anthems, "Loudpseaker," and, "I Know a Place"--two singles that pull from queer lead singer Katie Gavin's intimate life experiences.

Drenched in dark '80s synths, MUNA's latest release is more ominous than anything they've shared before. "Give me that love on a movie screen and I won't feel a thing," Gavin slurs above the droning, hypnotic production. "Give me your disrespect; give me your pain and loneliness," she continues.
In an interview with OUT this summer, the Los Angeles group told us they are pop band that deals with darker topics: "We don't want to shy away from themes or experiences that are difficult to fit inside a pop song," they said, foreshadowing the intensity of "Crying On The Bathroom Floor."
