Queer kids embrace queer style in this high energy video.
Queer artists KizMet and SayTay serve a funky fierce style all their own in their video for "True Style" featuring Rica Shay. Guests at their backyard barbeque give their best thrift store club kid realness, while enjoying an addictive rhyme and beat from the trio.
"True Style' is like how people say, 'the man makes the clothes,'" SayTay tells Out. "If you have true style in your soul, that never fades out. I wanted the video to showcase each of our true styles and as I put from the beginning 'to be a visual assault of fun and fabulous,' and I think we really made that happen."
"For me, 'True Style' is about being shamelessly unique and doing you no matter what," KizMet adds. "I feel like the queer community has been shamed too long for simply being fabulous so we are shining a positive light on our community."
"True Style" is featured on the EP, GoodMob, coming this fall with a west coast tour. The video is directed by AJ Goodrich and styled by LAG Vintage. Watch below:
