Surprise! One Direction Releases New Single Two Days After Zayn Malik Signs Solo Deal

The tea is exceptionally good today....

One Direction released "Drag Me Down" late Thursday night- the group's first single post-Zayn.

On Wednesday, Zayn Malik announced that he has signed a solo deal with RCA Records and that he is looking forward to making "#realmusic."

"Drag Me Down" sounds a lot different than the band's usual love songs. With a much more mature tone, each member of the band gets the chance to show off their singing chops.

The song was released on Spotify and can be purchased on iTunes.

Since Malik left 1D back in March, he's been quite the busy man- he bleached his hair, sat front row at Paris Week and made our Best Dressed Man of the Week list.

One Direction- which now consists of Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson- are currently touring the United States and are expected to release their fifth studio album this November.
