The film is adapted from Richard Wright's Pulitzer-winning 1940 novel.
Moonlight star Ashton Sanders is in final talks to star in A24's newly-acquired film Native Son, Deadlinereports.
Native Son is adapted from Richard Wright's novel by Pulitzer-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks, and will be directed by renowned artist Rashid Johnson.
The film is set to take place in Johnson's hometown of Chicago, and will see Sanders playing the role of Bigger Thomas. Love, Simon's Nick Robinson, as well as Margaret Qualley, KiKi Layne, and Bill Camp are also set to join the cast. Black Swan's Matthew Libatique will be director of photography.

A24 is also currently developing Bodies, Bodies, Bodies, a horror film from the writer of the viral New Yorker short story Cat Person. They're also working on The Lighthouse, director Robert Eggers' follow-up to The Witch.
This past year saw A24 in heavy Oscar contention with Lady Bird, The Florida Project, and The Disaster Artist all in the running for major awards.
