While not all of us are excited about the prospect of a sequel to Call Me By Your Name, it's happening, and director Luca Guadagnino has some new information about what the follow up will entail. USA Today reports:
"I'm already conceiving the story with Andre Aciman, and it's gonna happen five or six years afterwards," Guadagnino told reporter Carly Mallenbaum. "It's gonna be a new movie, a different tone."
The director also revealed the sequel will star Armie Hammer and Timothee Chalamet but will have a different backdrop. "They're gonna go around the world," he said.
Guadagnino added that scheduling for the film will being once the script is finished.
In other CMBYN news, a fan recently edited the film into a 80s teen comedy retitled Call Me, one where Elio and Oliver have a "life changing friendship." That's one way of putting it...
