An Elderly Gay Couple Falls on Hard Times in ‘Who Will Save the Roses'

Giulio and Claudio turned away from their individual paths in life years ago when they devoted themselves to each other and professional poker. As they honed their craft, perfecting their poker faces and the art of the bluff, Giulio never anticipated it would be Claudio that he has to use his practiced skills on.

After Claudio is left bedridden after a serious illness, Giulio must fire the gardener and sell off the trappings of their home piece by piece, leaving his lover ignorant to everything going on outside his room, but still bringing him a single rose every morning.

Nominated for three Italian Golden Globes, WHO WILL SAVE THE ROSES? Is a story about the measures we're willing to take to care for the ones we love. Though Giulio has a tempestuous relationship with his daughter, Valeria, he needs her help and the help of his grandson, Marco, whose inherited his passion for cards, if he wants to repair the situation around him.
