Marvel movies these days, with their myriad cameos and sometimes dizzying tie-ins, are only as good as their anchoring main cast members. And while it was a no-brainer that Thor: Ragnarok would feature the dreamy Chris Hemsworth returning as the God of Thunder, it looks like Cate Blanchett may be the one to steal every scene as Hela, goddess of the dead.
The teaser is truly that, giving us small scenes with Hela destroying Thor's hammer, Mjolnir, and either flashbacks or premonitions of Hela in an opulent, menacing headdress serving us unrivaled Queen of the Dead looks. Pause for all the drag queens who'll be reproducing this look.
After he is disarmed, Thor finds himself as a gladiator in the service of the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum). Golden locks shorn, face painted, and winged helm equipped, Thor faces off, to his surprise, against the Hulk. "We know each other," he says, "He's a friend from work!" Watch below.
