Zac Efron's upcoming gig on the Baywatch movie reboot just got a little more interesting.
His role is reportedly based upon Ryan Lochte's now infamous story; Efron will play Matt Brody, an Olympic swimmer who commits a petty crime and lies about it. Brody takes a lifeguarding job in an effort to find redemption in the public eye, as opposed to Lochte's Dancing With the Stars idea. The news, reported by The Wrap, comes from an anonymous source.
Joining Efron in the cast is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Mitch Buchannon, facing off against Matt Brody in the R-rated film. Alex Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Ilfenesh Hadera, Jon Bass, and Priyanka Chopra round out the cast.
