So, The Sons of Tennessee Williams is opening at the Quad Cinema in New York City (and in L.A. next week), and also, you need to see it if you like 1) Documentaries, 2) Mardi Gras, and/or 3) Drag Balls. Forget America's Best Dance Crew--this is "KY," America's Best Drag Krewe, one of the pioneers of the gay rights movement, with a legacy charting back to 1959. The doc traces the krewe's history from a time when police raids were common in the New Orleans gay scene to the AIDS crisis and the devestation of Hurricane Katrina.
