It's less than a month until the Olympics, and things are heating up!!
We're down to just 23 days until the Paris Summer Olympics start, and here at Out, we are shivering with anticipation!
One of our all-time favorite out Olympians, Silver medalist skier Gus Kenworthy has a special message for all the queer athletes who will compete this year.
"When I qualified for my first Games in 2014, my agent Michael said something to me that really resonated: 'Once an Olympian, always an Olympian.' So I encourage you to soak up your experience in France and bask in that feeling of accomplishment. Nobody can take that away from you. Win or lose, you will forever be an Olympian. You’ve just added a title to accompany your name for the rest of your life. Congrats — you’re basically a doctor," he writes.
If you want to take a look at some of the many queer athletes competing in this year's games, we already have a list of 40 out athletes to cheer for!
It's going to be one great, gay summer of games!
Now, onto the news.

Woman Crush Wednesday
Are you watching The Acolyte on Disney+? Creator Leslye Headland is our Woman Crush Wednesday! She's the first lesbian showrunner of a Star Wars show, and she is absolutely killing it! Not only has she created the most enjoyable Star Wars show since Andor, but she's also brought some much needed sexiness to a galaxy far, far away. Keep doing what you're doing Leslye, you're killing it!
This Week in Out History
Nine years ago on July 1, less than a week after the Supreme Court established marriage equality in the United States, the Episcopal Church in the US voted overwhelmingly to adopt same-sex marriage. We're still fighting to keep the progress we made back then.
Inspirational Quote
"Calling somebody else fat won't make you any skinnier. Calling someone stupid doesn't make you any smarter. And ruining Regina George's life definitely didn't make me any happier. All you can do in life is try to solve the problem in front of you."
– Cady Heron in the movie Mean Girls, played by Lindsay Lohan, who celebrated her 38th birthday this week. Happy birthday Lindsay!
