Turn up the heat.
While urging New Yorkers to stay safely at home during this massive snow storm today, Mayor Zohran Mamdani recommended taking this time to get into Heated Rivalry. Kudos for spilling, honestly!
"I can think of no better excuse for New Yorkers to stay home," Mamdani said. "Take a long nap, or take advantage of our public library's offer of free access to Heated Rivalry."
Besides being a great suggestion, it is also a hilarious remark coming from a mayor. Understandably, this made everyone laugh, which you can watch people. (Special shout-out to this man with the best reaction, who was shown in a separate clip in the replies section.)

Yet, this is the newly-elected NYC mayor who revealed himself as a BunHead and discussed how "I Like Ur Look" by Kim Petras as one of his favorite songs to get his day started. A man with great taste, truly.
New York Public Library joined in on Mamdani's enthusiastic recommendation by prominently featuring Rachel Reid's six Game Changers novels on its homepage as of this writing.

Any New York City resident can get a library card. And, with it, can read all six novels that inspired the Heated Rivalry TV show for free. For context, residents can get a NYC library card online by just following a few steps (detailed here) and using the Libby app.
Mayor Mamdani's full speech can be watched below.
The Libby app is available on the App Store (for iOS) and Google Play Store (for Android). Heated Rivalry is streaming on HBO Max.
