Heated Rivalry is a true pop culture phenomenon!
Not only have the leading men of the queer hockey show traveled the world and walked the biggest red carpets in Hollywood, but now fans of the show are embarking on their own fairytales!
Felix Sammons and Aram Matagi are living everyone's dreams at the moment after winning a Heated Rivalry lookalike contest that took place at Wunder Garten in Washington, D.C.
Everyone is obsessed with the handsome boys after they went viral for kissing at the D.C. event before being crowned the best impersonators of Ilya Rovanov and Shane Hollander. It turns out their chemistry went beyond the competition as Sammons and Matagi went on an adorable date that could be adapted into its own queer love story.
"I think we were together for eight hours by the end of the date. It honestly was perfect! At the cafe, this woman comes up with a brownie and a cookie. She was at the contest and wanted to give us desserts! She was a fan and excited we were hanging out. That was really cool and special," Sammons tells Out.
"I was so surprised at how much we have in common. Felix has such a good heart and very similar interests, which is not what I was expecting at all. I'm a theater kid, and Felix has been in 40 shows! This doesn't feel real, but it's so nice to be able to talk to each other as the internet learns about this," Matagi adds.
The million-dollar question is if the two are hoping to go on a second date... and fans will be thrilled to know that plans are already in the works!
Besides a special bond that's brewing between the two, both Sammons and Matagi won a pair of tickets to see the Washington Nationals and tickets to a concert of their choosing at the Heated Rivalry competition. So, it's safe to say they have plenty of cute dates in store!
"We can do whatever! We can do what's best for us. After he asked for my number, we decided to go to a Nationals game on Saturday. I think going to a queer picnic could be perfect and really special," Sammons says.
However, the duo isn't limiting their future dates to just events. Both studs have a passion for outside activities and a sense of adventure, so the options are endless for these two.
"I am a big proponent of the outdoors. I would love to just go on a hike and go camping somewhere. I feel like being isolated from the world with somebody else is the best way to get to know them. There's so much in common, it's scaring me," Matagi says.
