Finally, a superhero show for the gays!

Is Marvel finally making a show for the gays?

According to Heartstopper star Joe Locke, the upcoming WandaVision spinoff, Agatha: Coven of Chaos just might be the first Marvel show or movie made with gay fans in mind.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Locke couldn’t reveal if he is playing a gay superhero in the show, as many fans suspect he is, but did reveal that he thinks the show will resonate with queer fans in a way other Marvel properties perhaps haven’t.

“The show is about misunderstood people and people who are alienated by their society for reasons that they can’t control,” he said. “I think that resonates a lot with the queer community.”

But that’s not the only reason he thinks queer fans will like it. “I think there’ll be some camp,” he added.

There’s a little uncertainty about who Locke will be playing in the series. One of Locke’s costars, Patti LuPone, said that she is playing a witch named Lilia Calderu, and that Locke would play the familiar to the coven that includes her, Kathryn Hahn, and Aubrey Plaza.

However, a stunt double listing for the show indicated that he will play Billy, the gay teen son of Wanda and Vision who first appeared in WandaVisionas a baby and then as a child.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos will premiere on Disney+ in 2024 and stars Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness, Debra Jo Rupp, Patti LuPone, Aubrey Plaza, Sasheer Zamata, Emma Caulfield Ford, and Ali Ahn.
