Lola Young won her first Grammy at the Sunday awards ceremony for Best Pop Solo Performance for her song "Messy."
The queer British singer was overwhelmed with emotion about winning and beating out Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga, and Chappell Roan in the category — so much so that she dropped an f-bomb during her acceptance speech.
"I don't know what to say! Thank you so much," the 25-year-old singer said as she took the stage. Part of her speech got cut, but she can be heard saying, "fucking" uncensored before profusely apologizing. "I just want to say I'm very, very grateful for this," and went on to thank her friends and her mother.
The 25-year-old singer is making a triumphant return to the spotlight after collapsing during her show back in September. This was her first televised performance since returning to the public eye. She performed the now Grammy-winning "Messy" during the Best New Artist showcase during the televised ceremony.
