Chappell Roan announced that she's no longer represented by the Wasserman talent agency following its founder and CEO Casey Wasserman was named in new documents related to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. By doing so, Roan not only proves that she stands by her beliefs and morals above all else, but she might also be the first of several musicians to revolt against Wasserman — prompting a potential exodus from the talent agency.
As of 2026, the Wasserman talent agency maintained a huge roster of high-profile artists like Ed Sheeran, Lorde, Coldplay, Kacey Musgraves, Pharrell, and Imagine Dragons, to name a few. However, given Wasserman's position as the chairman of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Committee, a bigger sense of urgency was felt to understand his decades-old involvement to Epstein.
As Roan officially departs the agency, it's very possible that other artists will follow suit.
"As of today, I am no longer represented by Wasserman, the talent agency led by Casey Wasserman," the pop star wrote in an Instagram Story. "I hold my teams to the highest standards and have a duty to protect them as well. No artist, agent or employee should ever be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict so deeply with our own moral values."
Roan continued, "I have deep respect and appreciation for the agents and staff who work tirelessly for their artists, and I refuse to passively stand by. Artists deserve representation that aligns with their values and supports their safety and dignity."
"This decision reflects my belief that meaningful change in our industry requires accountability and leadership that earns trust," Roan concluded.

Toward the end of January 2025, Wasserman shared an apology and claimed to be "terribly sorry for having any association" with Ghislaine Maxwell, who is still serving her 20-year sentence for her role in Epstein's sex trafficking of minors.
However, the Department of Justice's latest batch of Epstein files includes alleged emails exchanged between Wasserman and Maxwell, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The report highlights emails from Maxwell saying that she had been thinking of Wasserman "at inappropriate moments."
According to this reporting, Wasserman replied: "I think of you all the time… So what do I have to do to se you in a tight leather outfit? I am in NY tonight, youre not, what am I to do? Xoxo cw."
Following Roan's departure from the agency, accompanied by a splashy statement declaring her stance, sources have already told The Hollywood Reporter that "multiple artists are considering cutting ties with the management firm."
Viral posts across social networks are expressing similar perspectives.

"This is a big shoe to drop," Josh Smith wrote in a viral Threads post. "Chappell Roan just became the first A-list client to say so long to Wasserman as their agency after CEO Casey Wasserman’s name appeared numerous times in emails with Ghislaine Maxwell."
Smith explained, "Lots of good folks and a laundry list of superstar musicians, up and coming artists, and top tier athletes currently working under that umbrella. Massive ripple effect incoming."
