Adult stars Derek Kage & Eddie Burke team up on steamy new project inspired by Heated Rivalry

Gay romance novels have everything: intense yearning, queer themes, a happily-ever-after, and the kind of sex scenes that would make you blush if you were reading in public.

And who would know how to deliver on the promise of spicy gay sex scenes better than an adult film studio?

Porn studio Falcon | NakedSword is diving headfirst into M/M romance novels — the term for love stories between two men — by launching a publishing division called FalconINK.

In the wake of Heated Rivalry’s success, LGBTQ+ romance sales have seen a dramatic spike, with the novel the show is based on becoming the number one bestselling romance book in the U.S. So, it’s no wonder Falcon | NakedSword is looking to capitalize on this bump in sales and bring something new to a long-standing genre.

The adult film studio may be well known for catering to the tastes of gay men, but FalconINK is trying to tap into a new market by gearing their books toward women.

Women have historically been the main target audience for romance novels — a 2017 Writer’s Guild of America survey found that 82% of romance readers are women — so it makes sense that FalconINK would be trying to market to them.

“This exciting venture reflects our commitment to expanding beyond our traditional audience while staying true to the storytelling and sexuality that have defined Falcon for more than five decades,” said Falcon | NakedSword President and CEO Tim Valenti.

“For the first time, we're also creating content for one of the largest audiences in the M/M romance space: women. No company is better positioned to tell accessible romantic and erotic stories than the one that has been doing it so successfully since 1971.”

And if you’re already a fan of the adult film creators who also brought you the first SFW vertical drama from a porn studio, then you’re in luck because some of the stories will be based on your fave adult films and read by the same gay porn stars you’re already obsessed with.

The new publishing arm of the gay adult film studio is starting off by releasing two M/M romances. The first is Hard Ball, a rivals-to-lovers sports romance (think Heated Rivalry but with baseball) and the second is Wild Game: Open Season, a prequel to Falcon | NakedSword’s film Wild Game.

Not only will the novellas be released in print and ebook formats, but the audiobooks will be read by sexy stars Derek Kage and Eddie Burke.

FalconINK will also serve as an incubator, so your favorite romance novels they publish may end up as a film or television adaptation.

FalconINK was also recently inducted into the Stonewall National Museum, Archives & Library in Fort Lauderdale, so they're ready to celebrate all of their success with fans. To kick off the launch, Book Soup in West Hollywood will host a release event and mixer on August 29, 2026, at 5PM.
