Watch 1st Full Little Mermaid Trailer With Extended Scenes of Ursula
Halle Bailey and Melissa McCarthy look stunning in the first full trailer of The Little Mermaid.

Directed by Rob Marshall, the live-action adaptation of Disney’s The Little Mermaid just dropped its first full trailer featuring extended scenes of Halle Bailey as Ariel, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Jonah Hauer-King as Eric, and Javier Bardem as King Triton.
In the trailer, we get to see Ariel rescuing Eric, confronting her father about falling in love with a human, interacting with Ursula, and getting her human legs to be “part of our world.” It seems like the live-action film will follow the exact same beats as the animated feature from Disney, so there will be a lot of familiarity for audience members going in to see it.

This live-action cast of The Little Mermaid also features voice acting from Daveed Diggs (Sebastian), Awkwafina (Scuttle), and Jacob Tremblay (Flounder), among others.
Alan Menken, who worked as a composer and songwriter in the original 1989 animated film, returned to those roles for the 2023 live-action adaptation. The film is produced by Marc Platt, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and John DeLuca.
We’re at the edge of our seats waiting for The Little Mermaid to come out this summer, and this trailer only makes the film look even more exciting!
The Little Mermaid opens May 26 in theaters.
