Pinhead is here!
After a year of anticipation, we finally have our first look at actress Jamie Clayton's version of the Hell Priest Pinhead in the upcoming Hulu Hellraiser movie.
Clayton shared the pic of her version of Pinhead on Instagram, giving us our first real look at the demon, and honestly, she's beautiful.
For all the naysayers, Clayton's Pinhead is just as scary, just as sexy, just as weird, and just as iconic as the original. She could tempt me to an eternity of torture any time!
On August 24, we got a tiny glimpse of Clayton as Pinhead in the first teaser for Hulu's remake of the classic horror film. In that teaser, we got to see Pinhead distorted in red peaking through the letters of Hellraiser as the title went across the screen. But now, we're seeing the real deal.
We first found out that Clayton (Sense8, The L Word: Generation Q) would be starring as the demon Pinhead last October. At the time, director David Bruckner (The Ritual, The Night House) said that Clayton was a perfect addition to the franchise, saying that she "fully embodies the role as the Hell Priest."
Hulu's Hellraiser remake also stars Odessa A'zion, Goran Visnjic, Brandon Flynn, Drew Starkey, Adam Faison, Aoife Hinds, and Hiam Abbass.
According to the official synopsis, the film follows "a young woman struggling with addiction comes into possession of an ancient puzzle box, unaware that its purpose is to summon the Cenobites, a group of sadistic supernatural beings from another dimension."
"This is not a remake," Bruckner told Entertainment Weekly. "I just didn't think you could ever remake the original Hellraiser. It's too much its own thing and it would be, I think, perilous territory for filmmakers, because how do you top that? This is a new story in the Hellraiser universe."
"We felt a kind of anticipation around the fans to reimagine the character," he added about casting Clayton in the role. "We knew we wanted Pinhead to be a woman. Jamie was just the right person for the role. A person's identity can be really exciting for a role in many ways, but I have to emphasize that Jamie absolutely killed, that's how we got there."
EW also has exclusive looks at a new cenobite named The Masque, as well as the human characters played by A'zion and Visnjic.
Hellraiser debuts on Hulu on October 7, making it the perfect movie to get you in the mood for Halloween!
