Alia Shawkat has joined the cast for Zoe Kravitz's directorial debut, the film Pussy Island. The movie also stars Naomi Ackie, Channing Tatum, Simon Rex, Christian Slater, and Geena Davis, among others. The movie follows Frida (Akie), a clever LA cocktail waitress who has her eyes set on a tech mogul named Slater King (Tatum). When she works her way into his inner circle and gets invited to his private island, she realizes that there's something darker behind his beautiful life.
Delevingne (Only Murders in the Building) is a part of the star-studded cast of women leading the film Tell It Like a Woman. Other stars and filmmakers involved include Taraji P. Henson, Jennifer Hudson, Pauletta Washington, Maria Gay Harden, Catherine Hardwicke, and Eva Longoria. The film comprises seven segments, each directed by female directors from different parts of the world. Delevingne stars alongside Harden and Jasmine Luv in Hardwicke's entry.
Comedian Jerrod Carmichael has signed a two-year overall deal with HBO after his comedy special on the network, Rothaniel, was a huge success among fans and critics. The new deal includes a brand new comedy special from Carmichael that will debut on the network, as well as developing other projects.
My Policeman star Rupert Everrett has landed his next big TV role. He'll be joining Patricia Clarkson and Lydia West in the upcoming espionage thriller series Gray. The show follows CIA spy Cornelia Gray (Clarkson) who returns to her old life as a spy after 20 years in hiding "just as it is discovered that there is a new mole within her old spy network."
We finally have our first look at Euphoria's Hunter Schafer in the upcoming horror movie Cuckoo. Directed by Tilman Singer, Cuckoo also stars Dan Stevens and Jessica Henwick. Filming on the movie wrapped this week, so hopefully we'll see a trailer soon!
