Daily Crush: The World's First 24-Karat Gold Watch
Famous for bringing high-quality design to small budgets, Bulova decided to break the bank this winter. The American watchmaker has just unveiled the world's first-ever timepiece made with pure 24-karat gold: The Joseph Bulova Collection First Edition 24-Karat Gold Watch.
The 24-Karat Gold relies on a proprietary process developed by Bulova to harden 999.9 pure 24-karat gold while ensuring water resistance to 30 meters (98.4 feet). The watch also incorporates a 26-jewel automatic movement chronometer, and features a strap combining two materials: an alligator layer and a stainless steel mesh bracelet with three microns of black titanium carbide.
With a suggested retail value of $42,000, it's the most expensive watch that Bulova has ever conceived, and only 32 pieces will be made. For more information on availability, go to Bulova.com.
