Bar III Takes a Road Trip

Bar3-main1

The popular in-house line from Macy's is abandoning its usual environs and taking a summer sojourn, starting in the Big Apple this weekend.

Much like when a newly graduated high school senior loads up a backpack and ventures out to explore the world, Bar III--the youth-focused, trend-driven line exclusively sold at Macy's--is spreading its wings and learning to fly. If you're scratching your head and wondering what the heck we're talking about, our sincerest apologies. Plainly put, Bar III--which, since launching in February of last year--has been confined solely to Macy's stores. But the popularity of the brand, and it's vintage-y, retro mix of separates, are on the lam, Thelma & Louise-style--minus the whole being chased by cops for murder thing--and will take this summer to explore the great, wide expanses of America by dropping in on some of the nation's most treasured flea markets. Thrifters, keep an eye out for the Bar III tent (which will look kinda-sorta like the one above), as it makes its way from coast-to-coast, peddling its array of men's and women's apparel and accessories--including their price-friendly, slimly-cut tailoring and more casual summer threads for boys. And if you spend over $100, you'll get a super-fly totebag (below, center) forrrr....you guessed it: free! There, you'll be able to meet up with blogger Aimee Song--of Song of Style--who will help inquisitive shoppers learn more about the label, and solve any style questions they might have. The first sighting will be this Saturday at New York's Hester Street Fair, and on Sunday at Green Flea. Keep up with the traveling tent-o-fashion on Twitter at @BarIIITweets as it travels to Pasadena's Rose Bowl Flea Market in sunny SoCal (May 13th) to Chi-Town's Randolph Street Market (May 26th and 27th) and beyond before returning back to New York in early June.
