Remember when designer extraordinaire Karl Lagerfeld made some pointed comments towards the world's most beloved singer, Adele, specifically about her weight? Well, it appears that Le Lagerfeld is very, very, very sorry, and he's making it known in the only way he knows how--by showering the smokey-voiced chanteuse with covetable Chanel bags. The Sun is reporting that Lagerfeld--who serves as creative director of the French label--"told his team to send Adele the best the fashion house have to offer after hearing she collected bags." This reminds us of when Kobe Bryant bought his wife a $4 million apology ring after he was charged with rape in 2003....a pretty present to help heal the wounds. But this may not just be a simple extending of the olive branch as sources are hinting that the designer hopes to enlist the star for future projects (as many know, Mr. L is often inspired by music and many musicians have served as muses for his sartorial creations). Sayeth The Sun: "He could see her fronting a campaign for Chanel Mademoiselle bags when the contract with Blake Lively ends. He's annoyed with himself because he ended up insulting her when he meant to compliment her. He thinks she's beautiful and calls her divine."
