After Ed Razek bluntly said that Victoria’s Secret has no room in its shows for plus-size or transgender women, the internet predictably and unflinchingly went in on him. In an interview with Vogue, Razek, the chief marketing officer of L Brands, Victoria’s Secret's parent company, said that “the brand has a specific image, has a point of view. It has a history.” He added: “the girls who have earned their way into the show have worked for it.”
Though Razek issued an apology after he realized his “remark regarding the inclusion of transgender models” may have come off as “insensitive,” the damage had been done. Fortunately for Razek, we’ve put together a preliminary list of some notable transgender and plus-size models, should he want to bring Victoria’s Secret down to Earth make it more inclusive. The brand would be lucky to feature any of these 20 women in its fashion shows.
