You usually have to wait until the winners are announced to see which men stand out at an awards show. But at Sunday's 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards, Donald Glover grabbed our attention before he even picked up the award for best series, comedy or musical, for Atlanta.

The actor/singer, also known as Childish Gambino, broke up the tuxedo tedium by wearing a tobacco velvet Gucci DIY Made-to-Order New Signoria suit with a crisp white evening shirt and sleek black shoes. Glover tied the earth tone look together, adding subtle contrast with a large burgundy bowtie. Red Carpet 101: smart and classy deviations often pay off.
