New tees featuring Bruce LaBruce's homoerotic imagery, collaged by artist and Out contributor Damien Blottiere, are now available online at Print All Over Me.
For the history bit, LaBruce is a famous filmmaker, photographer, and writer known for his work exploring taboo sexuality. The shirts are smothered in references to his films, posters, and Polaroid pictures. Blottiere, who's reached a following in the art world for his hand-made collages, had full license to recombine pieces from LaBruce's body of work to create exciting new visuals that translate extremely well into apparel.
The four prints tees, debuting this week on PAOM.com, are not for the faint-hearted, but they make great statement pieces when you go to a music festival, chain smoke e-cigarettes outside Brooklyn bars, or attend kinky, avant-garde art shows. There's also no harm in chilling in one on the couch and binge-watching a new Netflix show. (We hear The Get Down is actually pretty good.)
The full collection, which will include windbreakers, dress shirts, polos, sweaters, and accessories, will be available in late August, to coincide with Faggotry, LaBruce's retrospective at Lethal Amounts Gallery, in Los Angeles.
$38 each, available at PAOM.com
