President Obama Makes Gay Games Appearance

This past Saturday marked the opening of the 9th annual Gay Games and to help kick off the competition, President Obama made a video welcoming address.

"It's remarkable to see the games thrive over the years." said Obama. "We've come a long way in our commitment to the equal rights of LGBT people here and around the world,"

Speaking to athletes from around the globe, the president remarked, "And I know some of you come from places where it requires courage, even defiance, to come out, and sometimes at great personal risk."
