James Franco is many things. But if anything, the occasional actor is savvy. So when Pretty Little Liars star Keegan Allen showed up backstage after a performance of Franco's Of Mice and Men, co-starring with Tony nominee Chris O'Dowd, Franco saw an opportunity to set tongues wagging.
"I went to go say hey to him in his dressing room," Allen tellsE!. "There were a lot of people there and I asked him, 'What's the way to do the best selfie in bed?' and he showed me. And then he climbed in really quickly and he was like, 'Let's blow up Twitter for a second.'"
Despite his cheeky posts, Franco's social media habits have been landing him in hot water as of late. The Oscar-nominee had the Internet abuzz for all the wrong reasons when he flirted with a 17-year-old fan on Instagram. Then last week, Franco deleted a nearly nude selfie shortly after he shared it with his millions of followers.
But according to Allen, that's just Franco being Franco.
"He is a trip," says Allen."He's a real trip."
Franco and Allen co-star in the new film Palo Alto, based on Franco's collection of short stories of the same name. The multi-hyphenate also directed Allen in the upcoming films, Bukowksi and The Sound and the Fury, an experience Allen apparently enjoyed as much as his bedroom selfie.
"He's great work with," gushes Allen. "An incredible director and a really fun guy to hang out with."
