Madonna's 12th studio album takes the charts by storm—and she's coming for Barbra Streisand next

One could be forgiven for looking at the Billboard charts and thinking he had landed back in 1986. After all, Madonna has the number one album, followed by another retro icon: Lionel Richie.

And while some people are crying foul play because Madonna's numbers were bumped by a promotion that gave a copy of her new album, MDNA, to everyone who bought a concert ticket, we're sure that Madge is more concerned with who's ahead of her than who's behind.

According to Billboard, "Madonna remains in second place among women with the most No. 1 albums. She now needs only one more No. 1 to tie Barbra Streisand, the leader among women with nine chart-toppers."

Babs might want to watch her band, considering the Material Girl has already sold 359,000 copies of MDNA, her best sales since 2000's Music, which sold 420,000 in its first week.
