A replica of Michelangelo's 'David' statue seen through time lapse
"David," a giant golden replica inspired by Michelangelo's David, made its way through the streets of Manhattan yesterday and was on view in front of the Storefront for Art and Architecture through last night. The work of conceptual artist Serkan Ozkaya made "David" for the 9th International Istanbul Biennial in 2005. This statue was recently acquired by 21c Museum in Louisville, Kentucky, which is dedicated to collecting artworks solely from the 21st century. See the statue in a time lapse video by Brett Beyer via the New York Times.
