Madonna Takes Clothing Orders From Lourdes

'You’re not dressing like that,' teen scolds superstar mother

Madonna might wear the pants in her family, but she's certainly not the one picking them out.

In a clip leaked from her upcoming appearance on Nightline, Madonna, who is promoting her movie, W.E., her new album MDNA and her upcoming Super Bowl half time show, revealed that it's her teenage daughter Lourdes who is the final word in fashion around their house.

When pressed by interviewer Cynthia McFadden about whether her kids might think that she's ever uncool, the Material Girl revealed that sometimes her sartorial choices do cross a line with Lourdes.

"They don't say its not cool, but my daughter does say, 'It's inappropriate, you're not dressing like that'--and sometimes she's right," she revealed.

It's not normal embarrassing mom stuff that weirds out little Lola, who has a fashion line of her own. Of course, when Madonna is your mother, stained sweats and hideous sweaters are the least of your concerns.

"I went to this screening of my film the other night and I was feeling fun and frivolous," she shared, "so I put on this great, beaded Dolce & Gabbana corset that was just a little corset with fishnets and I put a cape on. She came into my dressing room and was like, 'Mom, what are you doing?' I said 'I'm going to the screening of my film," and she said 'that's not director.'"

Was the child banished to the far reaches of Siberia for speaking to her mother that way? No!

"She was right," Madonna said. "I changed. And I actually put on a better outfit and I liked it."

Now, if only Lourdes had been around during that cowboy hat phase.
