Walking the red carpet for the Italian premiere of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Robert Downey Jr. showed off a lot more than his movie-star smile.

The actor, who plays the title character in this sequel to Guy Ritchie's 2009 Holmes movie, made the mistake of leaving the house without checking the mirror--otherwise he might have noticed that his red Calvin Klein underwear was peeking above the top of his pants. Check out the photo here.

Considering how we've crushed on RDJ since Less Than Zero, it might not be the underwear appearance we've always hoped for, but it's something, right?
