Benny Andersson Teases With Possible Abba Reunion

Fans have been dreaming of an Abba reunification ever since 1983.

Former Abba member Benny Andersson teased fans with a possible reunion of the ever-popular band when he told the Swedish press he'd try to get the group together for a benefit to save a favorite Stockholm spot slated for urban renewal. "If I knew with 100% certainty that it would help, I would call the others and ask if we could do a gig. I'd try at least," Andersson told the daily Svenska Dagbladet (SvD) on Saturday.

For those of us not as familiar with what is at stake, The Local explains: "The comments come in reference to Andersson's concern about the future of Slussen, (literally translated as the Locks), a central area of Stockholm named after the locks between Lake Malaren and the Baltic Sea that dates from 1935."

Andersson has been involved in lobbying against the development and was so upset, he even penned an open letter to Stockholm mayor Sten Nordin, calling the proposal "stupid and anti-human."

But the actual reality of Abba getting together for a benefit concert (or any sort of joint performance) seems a distant fantasy at best.
