Set Your DVRs: Tom Ford Documentary Airing This Sunday

We bow down to a few mighty people in this world -- and two of them would most definitely be Oprah Winfrey and Tom Ford. But what do these two have in common, one might ask. The answer to that would be that this weekend the Queen of All Media is airing an episode of the show Visionaries: Inside the Creative Mind dedicated to Ford and his work on her network OWN. Director Michael Bonfiglio was granted unprecedented access to the designer and his life from the day of his much-touted return to womenswear in September of last year to late-February of this year, at the fete for his womenswear store in Los Angeles. During that time, Bonfiglio was able to capture Ford's paradoxical nature -- his meticulous, obsessive quest for perfection and his warmth and good nature.

"He struck me as a perfectionist in the sense that he knows exactly what he wants, but in relaying his ideas to people, I never saw him do it in a demanding way," the filmaker toldMarie Claire. "He's just very specific about what he likes and doesn't like -- and if it has his name on it, it has to be right. He didn't seem to go around changing things just for the sake of changing them -- he came across as very precise and purposeful."

Expect to see a lot of intensely personal footage and exclusive snippets of Ford's fabulous life (if you recall, Beyonce and Julianne Moore both walked in the intimate womenswear show that Bonfiglio was able to capture) as well as hear a lot about what drives Ford in his work for both fashion and cinema. This will not be light on the juicy details and inner-workings of a very diven, successful man (who also was recently voted Best Dressed by our readers).
