Vroom Vroom: Racer Inspired Clothing Hits Los Angeles

Here in New York, the city is abuzz with tennis fanatics waxing poetic about the rivalries currently being played out at the US Open, so it may be hard to think of another sport causing a fervor more than 3,000 miles away. But that's exactly what's happening at the infamous Los Angeles boutique Kitson where the brand new line Carroll Shelby Modern Vintage is debuting pieces from their forthcoming spring 2012 collection, which takes its cues from the 1960s race car driver Carroll Shelby, and provides a worn-in, vintage-y nonchalance to classic American wardrobe staples like the leather jacket, the graphic t-shirt, the chambray workman's shirt and, of course, the racing coat.
