Madonna Responds to Hydrangea Hate with New Video

The scathing reviews Madonna received for her new film W.E. were only background noise compared to the buzz that surrounded her on-camera response to a fan giving her a hydrangea.

"I absolutely loathe hydrangeas," the songstress reportedly said (among other things) before her press conference at the Venice Film Festival. Naturally the press and public have painted the moment as everything from hilarious to bitchy.

However, Madonna has never been the type to take a hit without swinging back, so she took advantage of the hydrangea hysteria to steal the spotlight back. She's released a short film that responds to the topic, and now everyone's talking again--this time about her--and some are even calling the move "brilliant."
