Lady Gaga Co-hosts and Performs on The View

The Lady Gaga media blitz strikes again. Today, she co-hosted ABC's The View, gabbing about such hot topics as the deaths of Amy Winehouse and Clarence Clemons as well as Tim Gunn's judgy remark about Hillary Clinton.

Decked out in head-to-toe houndstooth, Gaga opened the talk show with Whoopi, Joy, Elisabeth and Barbara. She started by gushing about being a huge Whoopi fan and told a story about drunkenly stealing a poster of the Oscar winner from a hotel lobby. Minutes after stowing the loot in her room, Gaga opened the door to a disgruntled security guard who told her, "We're going to need Whoopi back."

Barbara Walters, still our hero but nonetheless fading further and further into the depths of senility, caused a few awkward silences as she directed Winehouse-related "questions" at Gaga (they weren't so much questions as they were, um, statements). Gaga said she was so devastated about Winehouse's death that she couldn't speak for 48 hours.

It's fun watching Gaga sit next to the vocally conservative Hasselback and react coldly -- albeit politely -- to the latter's disingenuous attempts at establishing a common ground with the famously pro-gay singer.

After her co-hosting chat fest was up, Gaga went backstage to ready herself for her live performance of "You and I," logically her next single. And just as logically, ever inch of her piano was covered in houndstooth.
