3.1 Phillip Lim menswear is always a Fashion Week highlight for us with its typical blend of lush opulence and cultivated nonchalance. But this film, Weavers, directed by Andrew Paynter and featuring the collection on silent models framed inside a stark, empty urban world and accompanied by a fiercely powerful remix of Robortom's "Pagannini Rocks" by Tom Hodge (featuring Au Revoir Simone) added an atmosphere of severity and intensity to Lim's work. And thanks to the magic of fashion on film, we were able to see the rich amounts of baroque subtlety at play in the work, something that even our eagle eyes can miss out on in from the front row.
