In addition to our regular roster of fashion websites that we adore, the home decorating blog Apartment Therapy has a very special place in our hearts. Everything from their home tours to renovation 'before and afters' are fabulous, and oftentimes informative. But rarely do they touch upon the world of style and clothing.
But yesterday the site posted a "how-to" video on freezing your jeans in lieu of washing them. What's that, you say? Well raw denim, made popular by the likes of APC -- one of our favorites, is not really supposed to be washed in the typical soap and water way. In fact, at the APC store, the sales associates once lectured us on never, ever washing one's jeans. But life, being what it is, means that your denim is bound to get dirty at some point. So what to do? Apparently, freezing your denim is the savvy solution. After all, arctic temperatures kill germs just as easily as some scalding water. Don't believe us? Read this ABC news report on the college student who didn't wash his jeans for 15 months (which is also mentioned in the video above).
