Canadian Car Dealer Compares Out Cover Boy Tom Ford to a Used Car

We may be a few days late on this one, but it just came to our attention that fashion designer, icon and February cover boy Tom Ford was featured earlier this month in an ad for a Canadian used car showroom to announce its 4.99 percent sale, but it wasn't the sale that caught the public's attention.

The ad consisted of an image of a sexed-up Ford and a caption that read: "You know you're not the first. But do you really care? In the ad, salesman Dale Wurfel makes a comparison between buying a used car and sleeping with Ford.

We can't tell if Wurfel is accusing Ford of being a man-whore or giving him kudos for it, but his 20-plus year relationship with writer and editor Richard Buckley makes the advertisement seem a moot point.

Since the image was used without Ford's permission, the ad, which had appeared in the London Free Press on April 9, has been pulled from display. Legal actions haven't been announced, but the ad has caused many people to ask themselves, "Would I care?" Well, it is Tom Ford.
