Need To Know: Charlotte Martin

Last year, just when Charlotte Martin thought she'd been through it all -- albums released on both independent and major labels, touring across the country, marriage, a miscarriage, the birth of her first child -- she was hit with a devastating nerve injury that left her unable to play the piano or take care of her son, Ronen. After seeking medical care from too many doctors to count, she finally found one who helped heal her injury and she was able to return to her life as a mother, wife, and musician.

Never one to let a life-changing experience go to waste, the singer-songwriter channeled the agony of those months into a beautiful new album, Dancing On Needles, out digitally on February 1. Recently (the very, very pregnant) Martin dropped by the Out studio to chat about how her pain inspired her new songs, her relationship with her audience, and the "coolest" moment of her career thus far:

Dancing On Needles will be available at all digital outlets on February 1. For more on Charlotte Martin, visit her official website (where you can sign up for two different recently introduced fan club packages that offer the new album along with lots of bonuses) and follow her on Twitter.

Martin plays an album release party for Dancing On Needles tomorrow night, January 29, at The Bootleg Theater in Los Angeles. To purchase tickets to the show, click here.
